Friends of the GF Grocer

Here are some links to some other helpful websites to help you out with a range of aspects of gluten free living.  Happy clicking!

www.facebook.com/GlutenFreeGrocerNZ

We have a very active Facebook page, so if you're already on Facebook go check it out!  We post about recipes, websites we've discovered and also great new products we have in store.  Post your questions on the wall and we'll do our best to answer them.  Many of our other customers will happily lend a hand too.

www.mfd.co.nz

This is the place you visit before your trip to the supermarket.  Although we offer a fantastic range of gluten free specialty items, we don't offer everything that's gluten free simply because there are many products out there that are often gluten free.  Don't take what's on the MFD as gospel.  It is a companies responsibility to update the MFD if they make any changes to their products ingredients, and sometimes they forget.  Equally, there are many gluten free products not on the MFD as many companies may not be aware of it.  But it is a great starting point, and can save you reading a lot of labels at the store.

www.gobble.co.nz

If you're looking for gluten free catering, this is the place to go.  Gobble has both a regular kitchen and a gluten free kitchen on their premises, so there is no risk of cross contamination.  Most of the team in the kitchen are gluten free themselves, so have a good understanding of how to create tasty and safe gluten free options.

www.coeliac.org.nz

If you've been diagnosed with Coeliacs disease this is the first port of call for finding information on your illness.  It's also a great place to go to if you think you or someone you know may have Coeliacs disease.  The Coeliac Society are a not-for-profit organisation who help those diagnosed with Coeliacs, or medically required to be on a gluten free diet for other reasons.

www.allergy.org.nz

Allergy NZ are a great charity organisation to aid people dealing with a range of allergies - from gluten and wheat through to antibiotics and latex.  They are a membership based, not-for-profit society providing information, education and support to many Kiwi's affected by allergies.

www.glutenfreeliving.co.nz

This is a great place to go for product reviews and recipes.  It's also a forum where you can ask questions or help people out with information or ideas.

www.healthyfood.co.nz

If you are looking for simple gluten free recipes that aren't full of weird impossible-to-find ingredients, then this is the place to go.  Just pop 'gluten free recipes' into the search field to get started.  There are some great articles on gluten free living as well.  Well worth checking out.

www.glutenfreechef.co.nz

Jim is a nutritionist and chef based in West Auckland and offers information, tips and recipes through his website.  If you're just keen on the recipes, check out his blog: siciliankiwicooking.blogspot.com

www.foodinaminute.co.nz

If you just click on Gluten Free in the 'Recipe Type' box it will bring up a list of more than 50 easy gluten free recipes created in New Zealand for New Zealand families.

www.glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com

This is for the more experienced gluten free chefs out there.  These recipes take time, patience and sometimes ingredients substitutions.  Karina is from the US, and there are some ingredients in her recipes that you can't easily get in NZ.  A great place to visit for some inspiration.
